Hmmm...Graf Course?

Alright everyone. After recently riding the Graf. course, it a appears that it has suffered the winter very poorly. Large sections of trail just need to be raked or have large trees that have fallen, moved out of the trail. On the other hand, down trees have made large portions of the back side single track of the course nearly impossible to navigate. Furthermore, with the race getting closer every day, I am not sure if outdoor rec/ MWR etc. will even have the ability to clear the course. Just letting you all know!

Graf Ride Guide

With the arrival of the rare and elusive Bavarian spring, we were able to ride this weekend. I decided it was time to use mapmyride to, well, may my ride. On Saturday we did this beautiful ride out from post:

According to the program it was 27 miles with two category 5 climbs. I agree with the length, though it does not bring into accont the subjectivity that is really part of any decision on how hard a climb is. The first climb, up Netzaberg is probably a 5 and does in fact have some good rythm. The second climb is really not anything more than a prolonged false flat that really doesnt require the small ring. This is still a fun tool!

Because Jak and I had such a great time in Stribro, I sent them and email. Lo and behold, Stybi Senior emailed back and now we have a bit of fame in rural Czech! Check it out here.

Operation Extremely Boring Field Exercise is about to commence. Fortunately we will be able to ruminate on cycling via blackberry, even though that sounds like eating bikes and fruit.
